Green heating is just the ticket for Christian centre

Putting energy efficiency at the top of its agenda, a prominent London based Christian organisation decided to invest in a modern heating system. After examining a range of options, it selected an advanced, and highly economical, solution from the UK’s leading supplier of gas fired warm-air technologies to commerce and industry.

Alongside the environmental advantages of investing in a state of the art heating system, the religious centre was also hoping to reduce expenditure as its existing system consumed a great deal of energy. It also required climate protection for the retail literature contained in its onsite warehouse.

Heating an Aircraft Hangar has its own problems

Heating aircraft hangars has been a problem since...well, the dawn of the airplane: for good reason indeed. Airplane hangars are typically high bay open-air structures with one large hangar door on one end to accommodate the sheer wingspan of an aircraft. When the large hangar doors are opened, heat is quickly displaced with cold outside air. When the doors are closed, the heating cycle must start all over again, in a quick time so the passengers are comfortably warm.

In addition, hanger doors are not always well insulated and they allow a lot of cold air infiltration through gaps around the door's perimeter. The process of regenerating that lost heat energy can take considerable time and uses up a ton of heat energy.

So what is the solution to this?

Under-floor heating: the warm truth

It is no secret that our energy use has to shrink by 2020, due to government concerns and strict construction issues now being enforced.

The rising cost of supply, combined with global warming, makes energy-efficient technologies essential today. Floor heating – which uses 30% less energy than warm water heating and over 10% less than ceiling radiation plates – is well placed to reduce energy consumption, cutting carbon emissions and slashing energy bills.
